Control Panel Run Shortcuts

The Run dialog gives you easy access to many different programs and options.
To get to the Run dialog, click the Start button, then click Run. Type in the command and press Enter, to launch it. For example, type "control folders" (without the quotes) in the Run dialog and press ENTER. Here is a list of commands to use, and what they do:

well go to run n type Regedit press enter

this will open Registery Editor now look for the key

HKEY_LOACAL_MECHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ContentIndex now there find the Key Called "Startup Delay"

Double Click On It Now where its Base Click Decimal Now its Default Value Is 4800000 (75300:hexadecimal)

Change The Value To 40000 here u go u have done it now close the Registery Editor and Restart Your Computer

Alphabetizing your Start Menu

If you're like me , you've probably installed lots of programs, so many in fact that if you go to try and find a program its actually becoming really hard because they're not alphabetized, new programs are stuck on the end, so forth and so on, well, this is a really quick, reallllly easy tip to organize your start menu in Windows XP (I think this also works in Win 98, but I'm upgrading my comp that has Win 98 and can't verify it).



Here are the steps:

1.First click on the start button
2.Move your mouse to "All Programs"
3.Move your mouse to any of the folders there
4.Right Click
A box will open up, scroll to "Sort By Names" and click

This is for broad band connections, though it might work for dial up !!!

* Make sure your logged on as actually "Administrator".
go to run & type gpedit.msc

* Expand the "Local Computer Policy" branch.

* Expand the "Administrative Templates" branch.

* Expand the "Network Branch".

* Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler" in left window.

* In right window double-click the "Limit Reservable Bandwidth" setting.

* On setting tab check the "Enabled" item.

* Where it says "Bandwidth limit %" change it to read 0 .

Effect is immediate on some systems, some need to re-boot. This is more of a "counter
what XP does" thing. In other words, programs can request up to 20% of the bandwidth be
reserved for them, even with QoS disabled.

For Faster XP - Close Unwanted Services

To disable unneeded startup services for a safer, faster XP,
use the "Services" Admin Tool (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services).

If you are a single user of a non-networked machine, you can disable the following items,
with no ill effect !!!

• Alerter
• Clipbook
• Computer Browser
• Fast User Switching
• Human Interface Access Devices
• Indexing Service (Slows the hard drive down)
• Messenger
• Net Logon (unnecessary unless networked on a Domain)

Create A Hidden User Account In XP

This tweak allows an account that is normally displayed on the Welcome screen to be hidden from view. To log on using the account it's necessary to use the Log On To Windows dialog box similar to the one in Windows 2000

Change the "Attributes" data value from "40 01 00 20" to "50 01 00 20".

Once completed change the "CallForAttributes" dword value to "0x00000000"

(double-click and change value data to 0).

must change both of these values to get the rename to appear & Close It.

Then Right click on Recycle bin and Rename Option will be Shown !!!

On 26 Jan 1950 , Constitution of India came in Force & India Become a sovereign state & a totally republican unit. So, the 26th of January was declared national holiday and has been recognized and celebrated as the Republic Day of India, ever since.

To mark the importance of this occasion, every year a grand parade is held in the capital, from the Rajghat, along the Vijaypath. The different regiments of the army, the Navy and the Air force march past .

The parade is followed by a pageant of spectacular displays from the different states of the country.

Indian Festival - Makar Sakranti ...!!!

Makar Sankranti is one of the most auspicious day for the Hindus, and is celebrated great devotion, fervor & gaiety. Lakhs of people take a dip in places like Ganga Sagar & Prayag . And in South celebrated as Pongal, and in Punjab is celebrated as Lohri & Maghi. It is a day for which Bhishma Pitamah kept waiting to leave his mortal coil .


Makar Sankranti is the day when the glorious Sun-God of Hindus begins its ascendancy and entry into the Northern Hemisphere. Sun for the Hindus stands for Pratyaksha-Brahman - the manifest God, who symbolizes, the one, non-dual, self-effulgent, glorious divinity blessing one & all tirelessly. Sun is the one who transcends time and also the one who rotates the proverbial Wheel of Time. The famous Gayatri Mantra, which is chanted everyday by every faithful Hindu, is directed to Sun God to bless them with intelligence & wisdom. Sun not only represents God but also stands for an embodiment of knowledge & wisdom. Lord Krishna reveals in Gita that this manifested divinity was his first disciple, and we all know it to be indeed a worthy one too. No Sundays for the Sun, may be because one who revels in its very 'being', the very essence of his own Self, is always in the Sunday mood.

On Makar Sankranti day the Sun begins its ascendancy and journey into the Northern Hemisphere, and thus it signifies an event wherein the Gods seem to remind their children that 'Tamaso Ma Jyotir Gamaya'. May you go higher & higher - to more & more Light and never to darkness..

Lohri, is celebrated every year on 13th of January.
It is a festival to worship fire. Lohri Festival is celebrated with great pomp in North India.
At this time Earth starts moving towards the sun marking the auspicious period of Uttarayan. First Lohri is very important for the newly wed and the new born babies as it marks fertility.
At night, people gather around the bonfire and throw til, puffed rice & popcorns into the flames of the bonfire. Prayers are offered to the bonfire seeking abundance & prosperity. People make merry by dancing & singing traditional folk songs.

"Slumdog Millionaire" It is based on the book "Q & A " written by an "Indian author" and diplomat " Vikas Swarup"(an Indian Novelist).
The film, shot and set in India , follows a young man from the slums of Mumbai who appears on a game show and exceeds people's expectations, raising the suspicions of the game show host and law enforcement.

Slumdog Millionaire swept five awards out of its six nominations at the Critics Choice Awards and all four nominations awarded at the Golden Globe Awards which includes best director, picture, screenplay & score.
